Widget setup instructions

These instructions are for the creation of a Widget on your iPhone Home Screen.
Download the iPhone Shortcut (“Ars Sacra widget phone”) using the link below. It will open in the Shortcuts app on your iPhone. If prompted, tap “Add Shortcut”. If the shortcut is “Untrusted”, go to “Settings”, click on “Shortcuts” and toggle on “Allow Untrusted Shortcuts”. Then return and try again.
Open the Ars Sacra shortcut by clicking on the three dots. Make sure the “Get contents of folder” line is pointed at the newly created “Ars Sacra phone” folder where the downloaded images are located.
On the Home Screen of your iPhone, press and hold your finger down on a blank area until the widgets start to jiggle. Press the Edit button on the top left of the screen. Press the Add Widget selection and scroll down to Shortcuts. Select the new Ars Sacra shortcut to create a new widget on your Home Screen.
Test the Ars Sacra widget by pressing it. The Sacred Art image for the day should appear. You can press it at any time throughout the day to see the image.

Download the device Shortcut (“Ars Sacra widget laptop”) using the link below. It will open in the Shortcuts app on your device. If prompted, tap “Add Shortcut”. If the shortcut is “Untrusted”, go to “Settings”, click on “Shortcuts” and toggle on “Allow Untrusted Shortcuts”. Then return and try again.

On the Home Screen of your device, right click and then click “Edit Widgets”.
In the widget browser:
Scroll or search for “Shortcuts”.
Choose a widget size (Small, Medium, Large).
Click the “+” button or drag it to the Desktop.
In the widget placeholder, click to select which Shortcut it runs. Select the “Ars Sacra widget laptop” shortcut. Click Done.
Test the Ars Sacra widget by pressing it. The Sacred Art image for the day should appear. You can press it at any time throughout the day to see the image.

Setting up “Shortcuts” on your Apple Watch allows you to quickly trigger automations or tasks with a tap.
Enable “Shortcuts” on Apple Watch
Open the Watch app on your iPhone
Scroll down and tap “Shortcuts”. Make sure that “Show on Apple Watch” is turned ON
Add a Shortcut to Apple Watch by opening the iPhone “Widget” shortcut on your iPhone (see instructions and link for this shortcut under the Apple iPhone instructions). Open the shortcut by clicking on the three dots. Scroll down and toggle “Show on Apple Watch” to ON.
Set up a Complication on your Apple Watch by pressing and holding the watch face, and then tap Edit. Swipe to the Complications section, tap a slot and select Shortcuts. Choose the “Ars Sacra widget phone” shortcut with a tap. Press the Digital Crown to save.
Alternatively, you can always use Siri by raising your wrist and saying “Hey, Siri, run Ars Sacra widget phone shortcut.
